While hours away in Grand Rapids, this is truly one of my favorite places on earth. There are beautiful indoor conservatories and art galleries. However, it is the outdoors that I find simply amazing during any season. Nestled in beautiful landscapes of fields, farm, streams, and gardens are an amazing collection of sculptures by artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Alexander Calder, Auguste Rodin, Edgar Degas, Henry Moore, and many, many more. Located on the east side of Detroit, Tyree Guyton turned a dilapidated city block into a work of art. 25 years in the making and still changing, the Heidelberg Project attracts visitors from around the world. Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD)
The MOCAD showcases rotating exhibitions that push our thinking and understanding with work from contemporary artists. Pewabic Pottery
Pewabic Pottery, located in Detroit was founded in 1903 and continues to produce architectural tiles. Visitors are welcome to tour the site and visit the gift shop. |
